Slight dampness stains, creased corners and mild thumbing inside. Orange colouring on bonnet on p. 11. Slight tear at bottom of last page and rear cover. Bertha Corbett Melcher's first Sunbonnet Babies book was published in 1900, after which her little girls with faces hidden by bonnets captivated children and grown-ups everywhere. Although she was also a recognized artist of water colours, oil portraits and miniatures on ivory, Bertha's "Babies" remain her claim to fame.
