England's North Road Club was founded in 1885 to promote fast and long distance bicycle riding on the Great North and other roads. Issues describe excursions of the members (complete with liquid refreshments at various termini), speeches from Annual Dinners, official notices, lists of new members, etc. Edwardian gentlemen combining fun with exercise. Privately circulated among members.
Details: 96; 96 p. 25 cm. 23 b&w line drawings and photos. Two years bound together. Black leather with gold and black impressing. Badly chipped spine is missing most lettering. Edges and corners worn. Crease along centre of pages. Text is in columns so it is likely related to how the original reader held the issues prior to binding.
