The Quebec Bridge Disaster refers to a catastrophic structural failure during the construction of the cantilever bridge across the St. Lawrence River between Quebec City and Lévis. 75 workers, many of whom were Indigenous, were killed out of 86. A Royal Commission blamed consulting engineer Theodore Cooper for poor design standards, prompting the Canadian government to take over the project. These plans accompany the commission's report. Plans and diagrams include the site of the bridge, the location of adjoining railways, the principal dimensions of the trusses, positions of witnesses, wind and temperature records, much more.
