Edward Everett Horton, Jr. (1886 – 1970) was an American character actor and comedian who had a long career in film, theater, radio, television, and animated cartoons. In its time, the Empress of Britain was the largest, fastest and most luxurious ship operating between the UK and Canada, and the largest ship in the Canadian Pacific fleet. Torpedoed in 1940, it was the largest ship sunk by a U-boat.
