Palace RR Photograph Car Co.
Palace was a late-19th-century traveling photography studio operating out of a specially modified railroad car. Several of these travelling photographers toured small towns and rural communities lacking permanent photo studios. The rear illustration shows a car with a large window to let in natural light. "Palace" was operated by Jeremiah Tuck (1830-94) who billed himself as "Prof. J.P. Tuck." He commissioned his 50-foot passenger from the Harris Company of Saint John, NB. The illustration on the rear, however, may be a standardized example on which photographers placed their company name.
