The 18th Armoured Car Regiment (XII Manitoba Dragoons) was a Canadian Army reconnaissance unit that traced its roots back to 1903 when it was formed out of existing cavalry units in rural Manitoba. Called to active service on May 10, 1941 as the 18th (Manitoba) Reconnaissance Battalion, it was renamed the 18th Armoured Car Regiment (12th Manitoba Dragoons) in December 1942. Operating ahead of the main forces, the regiment gathered intelligence and located enemy positions. It fought through France, Belgium, and the Netherlands until the end of the war in Europe in May 1945. Nominal roll pp. 96-151.
