MONTGOMERY, L. M.
As a child, Montgomery learned many stories from her Great Aunt Mary Lawson which she later used in The Golden Road. Some Montgomery scholars feel the TV series Road to Avonlea never really did justice to the depth and colour of the characters in this book. The road referred to in the title is "the golden road of youth."
