Further Chronicles of Avonlea

MONTGOMERY, L. M.

Regular price $150.00 CAD Sale

A collection of short stories about Avonlea, this book was published without the permission of L.M. Montgomery, and was formed from stories she had decided not to publish in the earlier "Chronicles of Avonlea." Montgomery sued her publishers, L.C. Page & Co, and won $18,000 in damages after a legal battle lasting nearly nine years. Though no doubt disturbing for the author, the result for readers is a charming group of stories combining humour and sorrow in a way unique to Montgomery. Pages v-xi contain an introduction by Nathan Haskell Dole.
