Gold impressing on leather. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Text in two columns. General wear to extremities, incl. worn corners and lower edges. Some stains and scuffs to cloth. Binding is cracking a bit before frontispieces in both volumes, making front board slightly loose. Illustrated title page in vol. II has faint dampstain in margin. Occasional thumbing, but most pages bright and clean.
