Regular price $25.00 CAD Sale

Unfinished narrative poem by 19th-century Canadian author Isabella Valancy Crawford. The titular characters represent opposing worldviews: Hugh is an idealist who finds hope in nature and rural life, while Ion is a cynical, urban-dwelling nihilist who embraces despair and seeks to dominate the world. Left unfinished upon Crawford's death, partial manuscripts were later discovered. This Borealis edition edited by Clever brought the text to wider attention.
