Two photographs of Rome

SOMMER, G. (photographer)

Regular price $50.00 CAD Sale

Giorgio Sommer (1834 – 1914) was one of Europe's most important and prolific photographers of the 19th century. He produced many street and architectural scenes of Naples as well as other Italian cities. Sommer was involved in every aspect of the photography business, publishing his own images that he sold in his studios and to customers across Europe. In later years, he photographed custom images for book illustrations, as well as printing his own albums and postcards. This appears to be a leaf from one of the albums.
