Dillon Wallace (1863-1939) was an American lawyer, outdoorsman, and author of non-fiction, fiction and magazine articles. His friend, Leonidas Hubbard, was an assistant editor at Outing magazine. The Lure of the Labrador Wild is the powerful story of their adventure in the then-uncharted wilderness of Labrador, living on a few hundred calories a day. The journey was a fiasco; the men became lost and Hubbard starved to death. Wallace survived to write this bestseller, his first of many.
