Death of a Bookseller

FARMER, Bernard J.

Regular price $1,500.00 CAD Sale

Rare first edition of this classic mystery. Dark crimes are born of the evil impulse to acquire rare books. Especially when you don't want to pay for them. The author examines the psychology driving the bookseller's natural predator, another bookseller. The story culminates in a spectacular confrontation in which the victim cries: "You are indeed the Bride of Satan! What do you want of me?" "Books," replies the murderer, speaking for bibliomaniacs everywhere, "to read to my sisters in Hell." The author claims that this book's "shops and characters are fictitious" but we know better, don't we?
