Township Dredge on the Cull Drain

McArthur and Cairns (photographers)

Regular price $150.00 Sale

To drain the Wawanosh basin and convert it into the rich farmland it is today, a man-made canal was dug, starting in 1859, called the Cull Drain. Cull Drain, Perch Creek, and Wawanosh Drain seem to be alternate names for the same system. In this photo, councillors and workmen pose on the dredge.
