Albert Gallatin Mackey (1807 – 1881) was an American medical doctor and author best known for his books and articles about Freemasonry. Masonic historians may find this book of interest since it not only describes Masonic laws but attempts to explain how the laws came into being. Many of these rules still influence Lodge governance today. Note bookplate designed by James Jervis Blomfield (1879-1951), Canadian artist and designer best known for his design of the coat of arms of Vancouver.
