Referenced by Green & Gibson in Bibliography of A. Conan Doyle (1984 ed.) III.8 (p. 615). While the lyricist is well known, the composer of this music is less so. An Irishwoman who wrote various songs and ballads, Needham was the first woman to conduct at the Royal Albert Hall, London, as well as the first female president of the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 1906.
