Annual Address delivered before the Connecticut Medical Society, at Hartford, May 23, 1889. Sir James Alexander Grant (1831 – 1920) was an Ontario physician and political figure. As for the author, he is likely the Dr. George Loring Porter of Bridgeport, Conn. (d. 1919) who had been a Union Army surgeon and buried John Wilkes Booth.
