Vol. 11: Correspondence, reports and other papers respecting the Canada boundary and the Newfoundland fishery 1819-42. Vol. 12: Correspondence, treaties and other papers respecting relations with Canada 1843-69. Vol. 13: Correspondence respecting the Halifax Fisheries Commission and other affairs with Canada 1874-80. 14: Reports, correspondence and other papers respecting relations with Canada 1881-94. The papers in the first volume are primarily concerned with the disputed northeastern boundary of the US. A lesser issue of the boundary dispute was the question of fishing rights off the coasts of the areas concerned and some papers deal with that matter. But bulk of material relates to the the boundary itself during the 1830s and 1840s, especially the interpretation of the boundary line drawin in 1783. The Webster-Ashburton Treaty of 1842, included in vol. 12, provided the means of bringing the boundary dispute to an end. Also in vol. 12 are papers relating to the long-disputed Oregon boundary. Vols. 13 and 14 are mainly concerned with fishing rights.
