The American Bachrach Studios is believed to be one of hte oldest continuously operating photography studios in the world, founded in Baltimore by David Bachrach, Jr. in 1868. At its height in 1929, Bachrach had 48 locations throughout the USA. This photo came from an estate in North Bay, Ontario, although we don't know Bachrach had any Canadian locations. The studio photographed Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, every US head of state since, as well as Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Muhammad Ali and many others. Unfortunately, this woman is unknown.
