Title continues: "or The Canadian Itinerants' Memorial: Constituting a Biographical History of Methodism in Canada, From its Introduction into the Province, till the Death of Rev. Wm. Case in 1855." Rev. William Case sought to evangelize the Native Americans to Christianity. Case's views, which would be highly unfashionable today, were actually quite progressive for his time, urging European settlers to view Natives as their fellow human beings. These efforts earned the admiration of Rev. Carroll, the first Catholic bishop for America, who wrote these volumes.
