14 cm b&w portrait photo on 17 cm card. Bottom of card reads "Brown, Leamington, Ont." Pencil inscription on rear reads "Earl of Devonshire Horatio Bottomley." The inscription is problematic: 1. Is it really Bottomley? He seldom if ever sported a mustache. 2. Was Bottomley in Leamington, Ontario? 3. There was no Earl of Devonshire at this time period. 4. Bottomley was not an earl. A mysterious muddle.
