Politician Sir John Rose was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Executive Council of the Province of Canada. He also held the offices of Solicitor General of Canada, Minister of Public Works and Minister of Finance. In 1872, he was created 1st Baronet Rose of Montreal. In this photo he is probably second from right, next to the 18-year-old Prince of Wales who visited Rose's house on Sherbourne St., Toronto, in 1860.
