Title continues: "Or, Certain difficult and obscure Words and Terms of the Common Laws and Statutes of this Realm now in use, expounded and explained. Now Corrected and Englarged. With many Great and Useful Additions throughout the whole Book, never Printed in any other Impression." John Rastell (c. 1475 1536) was an English printer, author, member of parliament, and barrister, a brother-in-law of Sir Thomas More. First translated from French into English in 1527, possibly by Rastell's son William, this first English legal dictionary was reprinted many times.
