Regular price $125.00 Sale

Describes the founding of the town, its development, harbour, railroads, churches and schools, industry, some pioneer families, early local tragedies. Port Hope's relatively slow growth from 1881 to 1951 resulted in much of the town's original architecture not being demolished in the name of progress and its downtown is now celebrated as the best-preserved 19th-century streetscape in Ontario. Some of the old buildings are included in these plates.
