Letters From The United States, Cuba and Canada. Vols. I & II

MURRAY, Hon. Amelia M.

Regular price $250.00 Sale

Botanist Amelia Matilda Murray (1795 1884) set out on a tour of North America and Cuba where she indulged her interest in botany and investigated the institution of slavery. Upon her return she published these volumes, but her pro-slavery view point made them unpopular and cost her the position of Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Victoria.
