Legal text by Austrian legal scholar Johann Christoph Frölich von Frölichsburg (1657-1729) deals with the questioning of witnesses, torture, and offenses such as theft, murder, kidnapping, witchcraft, heresy, etc. The work led to greater legal certainty since judges had a work they could consult, presenting clear guidelines on charges and punishments. The author believed in witchcraft but warned against excessive use of torture. German text.
