BYRON, Lord

Mauchline Ware was a form of souvenir ware made by the Smith family of Mauchline, Ayrshire (now Strathclyde), Scotland. The fern effect is produced by laying actual ferns on a sycamore wood object, colouring around the ferns using dark brown, removing the ferns, and then varnishing the finished project. Byron's bio by Alexander Leighton. A real delight for the Mauchline collector and poetry lover.
