This magnificent atlas was published about 1831 by John Hamilton, successor to well-known copperplate engraver and printer Daniel Lizars (ca. 1760-1812). Text at rear covers the history of geography, fossil remains, political geography (with emphasis on Britain), etc. Index to place names at end of plate section and index to historical section at rear. A beautiful book.
