Gaspard Théodore Mollien (1796 – 1872) was a French diplomat and explorer. At the time of his travels in Colombia, the country had just become independent, having separated from Spain in 1819. Mollien describes his journey, the natives, and the politics of the country. Plates engraved by Pierre Francois Legrand (1743-1824).
