The Poetical Works of William Wordsworth

WORDSWORTH, William; KNIGHT, William (ed.)

Regular price $500.00 Sale

The last three volumes of this set are "A Life," by editor, Knight. Knight did some of the earliest work on the text of Wordsworth and he produced for this edition a chronological arrangement of the poems. His good intentions were not generally appreciated, but were excoriated. A contemptuous reference to his scholarship spoke of "chaos and old Knight." The historical significance of this set's controversial chronology of Wordsworth's poetry makes it a valuable resource for Wordsworth scholars and research libraries.
