George Farquhar (1677-1707) was an Irish playwright best known for his bawdy Restoration comedies. Includes: The Inconstant: or, The Way to Win Him. A Comedy (1702); The Twin Rivals: A Comedy (1702); and the author's most famous play, The Recruiting Officer: A Comedy (1706) which was one of the most popular plays in 18th Century London.
