Original miscellany collated and edited by Samuel Johnson and William Oldys and published between 1744 and 1753, This volume is part of the 1809-11 edition which rearranged the material into chronological order for the first time. The collection is really an assembly of miscellaneous literary works from poetry, history, and oratory that were part of the Earl of Oxford's library before his death. Which Earl of Oxford remains unverified.

Leather severely deteriorated on boards and completely removed from spine. Front board detached. Marbled boards scuffed. Scuffing and bumps along edges, corners and spine. Front board held on with only two remaining cords Pages have some foxing. Text unmarked.
