Original miscellany collated and edited by Samuel Johnson and William Oldys and published between 1744 and 1753, This volume is part of the 1808-11 edition which rearranged the material into chronological order for the first time. The collection is really an assembly of miscellaneous literary works from poetry, history, and oratory that were part of the Earl of Oxford's library before his death. Which Earl of Oxford remains unverified.

    Vol. 9 only. x, 561p. 22 cm half leather binding with marbled boards. Bookplate for Alexander McGrigor of Kerneck on front pastedown endpaper. Leather severely deteriorated on board and completely removed from spine. Marbled boards scuffed. Scuffing and bumps along edges, corners and spine. Front board held on by only one remaining cord. Remaining book intact. Pages clean except for pencilling on title page and front endpapers. Text unmarked.
