Regular price $250.00 Sale

Louis Ellies du Pin (1657-1719) was an ecclesiastical historian who received his D. D. from the Sorbonne in 1684 at the age of 27. A proponent of "Gallacanism," a political position that argues that the Church in each nation should be jointly ruled by both the Pope and that nation's monarch. Debate over such a position comes from the potential power it gives Kings to influence church doctrine and policy.
