Nouveau dictionnaire de l'Acadmie franaise ddi au roy
Formed in 1635, the Acadmie franaise is responsible for all official matters pertaining to matters regarding the French language. This 1718 edition is the second complete dictionary of the French language ever officially produced by the academy. Only eight editions have ever been completed; however, the academy continues to work on the 9th edition today. This beautiful set of folios is both a useful reference and a historical document of significance to anyone studying the history and development of the French language in the modern era.
