317 p. 20 cm. Frontispiece and two other plates by Henry Austin. Title page appears to be a cancel. Author's name mis-spelled "Sheil" on the title page, front cover, and spine. Blue cloth, stamped in gilt on cover and spine. The imprint "Langton" is on the spine. Morse (1948) p. 73. Spine and cover edges faded. Two small scratches to spine. Small puncture on the lower front cover below the author's name, and a corresponding bulge inside the front cover that has not penetrated the paper. The bulge continues as a faint dent on the first four leaves, including the title page. Minor dent in top edge of front board. The half-title has a few light spots of foxing. Wrinkling to frontispiece.
