BENNETT, John Hughes

Regular price $600.00 Sale

Though John Hughes Bennett (1812-1875) is best remembered today for the first description of leukemia, he also advanced medical science in other ways. He opposed blood-letting, supported the admission of women to medical schools, was an outstanding teacher, and has been called the founder of physiology. His advocacy of cod liver oil as a therapeutic agent is perhaps less well known. G&M 1858.
