Pierre Restaut (1694-1764) was a French grammarian whose "General Principles of Reasoned French Grammar" came out in 1730 and was one of the first basic manuals for the study of French. It was used by the University of Paris but also for educating French children and had many editions within the author's own lifetime.

Endpapers have bookplates of previous owners and some label residue. Page opposite half-title has ink inscription as does back of title page. Minor foxing. French text.
