Innis was Harold Adams Innis (1894 - 1952), a Canadian professor of political economy at the University of Toronto and the author of numerous works on media, communication theory, and Canadian economic history. Innis College at U. of Toronto is named after him. Arthur Lower (1889 - 1988) is less well known but was a noted Canadian historian interested in the forest trade and Canadian-U.S. relations.
