HOFFMAN, Johann. Jakob
Hoffman (1635-1706) was a theologian and historian in addition to his work as a lexicographer. He held a professorship in Greek at the University of Basel. His lexicon was one of the last written in Latin. It is a two volume lexicon with 2 supplemental volumes. The most important work of a 17th century Swiss scholar of importance to the history of European philology.
