Francois-Vincent Toussaint (1715 - 1772) was a French writer most famous for "Les Mours" (The Manners). The book was published in 1748 and immediately prosecuted and burned by the French court of justice. The book was scandalous for several reasons, such as the character believed to depict Marie Leszczynska, wife of Louis XV. The volume was also a huge success, reprinted 13 times in the first year.
