First published 1726-30 at the Hague, this massive 6-volume dictionary includes the people, places and events important to the 18th century world. An unusual touch is the way each letter is paginated separately. Bruzen of Martinitere (1662-1746) was secretary at the Court of Frederic-Guillaume, Duke of Mecklembourg, afterwards counselor to the Duke of Parma and, at one point, geographer to King Philip V of Spain.
