Some reviews are quite long, being almost abridged versions of the books; see the fourth item, which describes writings by Captain Lyon and John Dudley in 1821. Other items are like op-ed pieces; see "Tunis" by A. Gallenga, in "The Contemporary Review." And some are pure travelogue, like "A Visit to Madeira and Teneriffe." Altogether a good overview of the European portrayal of North Africa in the 19th century.
