This year inaugurated the first permanent theatre and an article about it was written by Robertson Davies. Brief bio of Tom Patterson. Actors included Christopher Plummer, William Hutt, Bruno Gerussi. The 1957 Stratford Music Festival included Benjamin Britten, Count Basie, and Billie Holiday.
