Henry Fielding (1707-1754) was an English author most famous today for his satirical novels, Joseph Andrews (1742) and Tom Jones (1749). Fielding was also a prolific playwright. This play, originally published in 1739, was a satirical look at a then familiar theme of Quixotic literature.
