While many golf fans know Jack Nicklaus, fewer will remember Jake Gaudaur (1920-2007), Canadian Football League player, executive and commissioner. Gaudaur, born in Orillia, had a 45-year career in Canadian football, including 16 years as commissioner. An amateur artist, he also designed the Leaping Tiger logo for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as well as an early version of the CFL logo. He became an officer in the Order of Canada in 1985.
