Benjamin Franklin had a large diplomatic and personal correspondence with men such as Lafayette, Washington, Paine, Jefferson, Adams, Rousseau, and many others. He also wrote scientific and historical articles, on such subjects as the effects of lightning, electricity, meteorological observations, the state of American commerce, the savages of North America, ventilation, etc. Here is a list of his letters and other works in chronological order. The unknown compiler, who clearly had access to Franklin's archives ("The Franklin Manuscripts"), has created a legible and comprehensive listing of the works of this polymath who became a Founding Father of the U.S.A. See second page for information on sources.
