Rudolph Belarski was born May 27, 1900 in Dupont, Pennsylvania. For ten years he worked in local coal mines while studying mail-order art courses at night from the International Correspondence School. By 1935, Belarski was painting pulp covers and making a fine career out of it. Belarski became the foremost paperback cover artist for Popular Library until 1951 when he started drawing for men's adventure magazines.
