Some photographers include: Alfred T. Anderson (1865-1958) of Kearney, Nebraska; Riley & Sherraden of Council Bluffs, IA; Omaha Photo Co.; Carlson of Holdrege, Nebraska; W. Bool & Co. of The Vale Studio, King's Road, Chelsea; etc. Some of the portraits identified eg. Harvey C. Lewis and his spouse Lou Plumer, who married Feb. 14, 1894 in Council Bluffs, Iowa; Fred Emmerson, a Philadelphia carpenter; Elsie Dietrich of Webster, Nebraska; Matilda J. Emmerson, a graduate of Old Blockley nursing school in her nursing uniform; Miss Horner and Miss Fisher, the latter Superintendent of Blockley Hospital nursing school. "Old Blockley" aka Blockley Almshouse, later Philadelphia General Hospital, opened 1732-33 and was renamed Philadelphia General in 1919. Its nursing school opened 1885, the institution closed in 1977. Alice Fisher (1839-88) was a nursing pioneer at Philadelphia General, who introduced dramatic improvements in care standards and founded the nursing school. Another photo is of George Emmerson, editor of Jean Brenneman's "Skies Unclouded: The Montana Poems." Included is a copy of this 32 p. stapled booklet published by Galt House Publications, London, Ontario, ca. 1968. Emmerson taught at our very own University of Western Ontario. Poems are about childhood memories, family, changing seasons, etc. Booklet contains photos of Brenneman's log home, Montana landscape, and so on. Last photo in book is that of Duc Plumer's place, Dumbell Ranch, Brenneman's girlhood home in Hyannis, Nebraska.
