Photo shows Canadian Northern and Canadian Pacific railway cars on track with supplies being unloaded to horse-pulled sleds. In distance is grain elevator and station. To left are large tents. Foley, Welch and Stewart was an early 20th century railroad contracting company operated by Patrick Welch and J. W. Stewart of Spokane, Washington and T. Foley of St. Paul, Minnesota. The company built miles of track for the Canadian Pacific, Canadian Northern, Grand Trunk, Great Northern, Northern Pacific, and other railways. The Canadian freight cars, along with the flat landscape and elevator in the background suggest this is a site on the Canadian prairies. We are open to suggestions as to the location.
